Today I’ve got a quick and easy printable Groundhog Day craft you can make with kids without planning ahead. It’s mess-free, low prep, and works well on a busy day.

This Groundhog Day craft turns into a groundhog burrow, with a sleeping groundhog showing through a cut-out window. When kids pull the tab, the sleeping groundhog disappears and an awake groundhog pops up instead. Spring is coming!

What you’ll need:

How to make your Groundhog Day craft:

1. Print the Groundhog Day craft template on white cardstock that fits your printer. Regular paper works too, but thicker paper is more stable.

2. Cut out the burrow and the slider strip.

3. Cut out the window on the burrow.

4. Fold the burrow in half along the middle, keeping the colored side facing out.

5. Glue the sides of the burrow to form a pocket, leaving the top open. spread glue only along the edges so the slider can move freely.

7. Pull the strip up and down to wake the groundhog up.
